WiFi Troubleshooting London – Fix Dropped Connections and Slow Speeds

Mesh WiFi Setup and Optimisation (WiFi 6E and WiFi 7)

Modern homes often need more than a single router. Most broadband providers now supply their own mesh WiFi hardware, such as EE’s WiFi 7 router and mesh system, or similar solutions from Vodafone, Sky, BT and Virgin Media. I provide onsite help to make sure these systems are set up correctly, connected to your Apple devices, and working reliably. Most new hardware is configured using a QR code and a smartphone app, but problems can still occur. I ensure your provider’s router and mesh system are installed properly and optimised for stable coverage across your home.

Wireless Router Help and Configuration Assistance

Most modern broadband routers are factory‑configured and only need a mains connection, a cable from the WAN or ADSL port, and Ethernet ports for wired devices. The days of complex router settings are largely gone, but problems can still occur. I provide onsite help to ensure your router is positioned for the best possible speed and coverage, and I assist with occasional configuration tasks such as setting a fixed IP address for a network printer, or helping Sonos systems and CCTV cameras connect reliably. I make sure your router is working as intended and your Apple devices stay connected without interruption.

These issues often come down to router compatibility, incorrect settings, or interference from nearby networks.

Keith Thomas provides onsite help to make Apple Mac WiFi reliable. Support includes troubleshooting dropped connections, fixing slow speeds, and ensuring Macs connect securely to home or office networks. Improve Your Home WiFi Signal and Coverage

Keith Thomas brings over 20 years of WiFi and wireless network skills to improving home WiFi coverage across London. Many users search for “WiFi not in all rooms,” “poor WiFi,” “no WiFi connection,” or “how to get WiFi in the entire house” when they struggle with weak signals. These are common frustrations, especially in larger homes and apartments where a single router cannot provide full coverage.

Keith Thomas provides onsite help and advice on how to improve your home WiFi signal and coverage. Fibre broadband customers often discover that WiFi extenders and repeaters no longer work effectively — they cut speeds by up to 50% when extended and create problems for printers and Sonos systems. Modern broadband providers now supply mesh solutions such as EE WiFi 7 and EE Mesh, Vodafone mesh, or updated BT kits, which are designed to deliver consistent coverage throughout the property.

With trusted expertise, Keith Thomas ensures your Apple Mac and MacBook connect reliably to these systems, routers are positioned for the best possible speed, and overlapping networks are resolved. Whether in a home or apartment, Keith Thomas makes sure your WiFi signal is strong, stable and ready for everyday use.

Mobile Hotspot Setup for Broadband Backup

Most people do not know how mobile hotspot connections work or how they can be used, but an iPhone can act as a portable home router when fibre broadband fails. This option is best used with a modern unlimited data plan, such as Vodafone’s £22 per month plan, which provides enough capacity for everyday browsing, email, and streaming.

Keith Thomas provides onsite help to configure mobile hotspot connections correctly. The setup is simple but often overlooked: enabling the iPhone’s hotspot feature, connecting Macs and other devices securely, and ensuring the network is stable. This can be a great way to keep working if a fibre connection is lost or a broadband service goes down.

This gives you an opportunity to invite an Apple WiFi Support Specialist into your home to help with your Apple Mac computers and WiFi devices, and also arrange an Apple Mac Maintenance visit service. The idea is to make people think: “Ok, I could do with some on‑site help with my setup from an Apple and Apple WiFi Network Support Specialist.”

An iPhone can act as a portable router using the Personal Hotspot feature, keeping your Apple Mac online when fibre broadband fails or your home internet service goes down. The quality of the connection depends on mobile coverage in your area — a strong signal comes from being close to a mobile phone mast, while weak 4G or lack of 5G can limit performance.

Use iPhone as WiFi Router When Broadband Fails

Newer iPhones can also use an eSIM from a different network provider, giving you the flexibility to choose the best possible speed and reliable performance if your main provider struggles. With an unlimited data plan, such as Vodafone’s £22 per month option, this setup can provide enough capacity for everyday browsing, email and streaming.

Keith Thomas provides onsite help to configure Personal Hotspot connections correctly. Macs and other devices are connected securely, the network is stabilised, and the setup is explained clearly so you can get online fast.

Why is my WiFi not working in all rooms?

WiFi coverage often fails in larger homes when a single router cannot reach every room. Extenders and repeaters cut speeds by around half and can cause problems with printers and Sonos systems. Modern mesh systems from EE, Vodafone or BT provide full‑home coverage.

How to get WiFi in the entire house?

The best option is to upgrade to a provider‑supplied mesh system such as EE WiFi 7, EE Mesh or Vodafone mesh. These systems are designed to deliver consistent WiFi throughout the property.

Mac won’t connect to WiFi but iPhone does – what’s wrong?

Macs depend entirely on WiFi, while iPhones can fall back to 4G or 5G. If your Mac won’t connect, it may be due to router settings, interference, or outdated router hardware or a router cache issue. On-site support ensures your Mac connects securely to your broadband provider’s router, Keith Thomas can factory reset the router and reset the Mac network settings.

My Broadband Internet is down what to do?

Check the Lights on the boxes that you have, for Fibre you might have two boxes, one box is where the Fibre cable comes into the building any Red Light saying LOS, means Loss of Service, and the action is to power off the box, wait 30 seconds, and see if the LOS LED does Green, if not then call your Broadband service provider, if the Fibre box is powered on, and all of the LED are Lit, no Red, all Green, then the make sure the Router connected to the Fibre box has the Internet LED on, it is usually green. Powering off the router for 30 seconds and back on again can resolve the problems, as long as the cables are connected correctly or they are not damaged.

Fibre Broadband not working after troubleshooting What can I Do?

If fibre broadband is still down after checking the lights on the fibre box and router, you can keep your Apple Mac online by using a mobile data connection. An iPhone can act as a portable router with the Personal Hotspot feature, allowing your Mac and other devices to connect securely. The speed depends on mobile coverage in your area — being close to a mast improves performance. If you have a 4G or 5G smartphone with a SIM or eSIM plan, this can also be used as a backup connection until your broadband service is restored.
